Assassin’s Creed Origins (XB1, PS4, PC)

My, what a difference not being on a yearly schedule makes. Assassin’s Creed: Origins is the return to the franchise that just stepped off the production line. Being in production for four years, this iteration marks the end of Ubisoft’s grand experiment in leveraging global staff towards annual releases. Assassin’s Creed: Origins is a bold step for the franchise in almost all areas. Introducing a whole slew … Continue reading Assassin’s Creed Origins (XB1, PS4, PC)

Super Lucky’s Tale (Xbox One/PC)

Poor Lucky. Not only does it seem as though the sweet little fox has been heavily focus tested in a room full of cheerfully over-protective parents, he’s also been sucked into a magical book called the Book Of Ages – along with a bunch of villainous feline criminals known as the Kittie Litter (yes, really), and it’s up to him to stop them across a variety of … Continue reading Super Lucky’s Tale (Xbox One/PC)

Cuphead (PC/XB1)

When I used to think about white hot rage in gaming I would always think back to some of those early NES titles that seemed impossible to beat as a 8 year old kid with the patience of an 80 year old man who just wants the nursing home orderly to stop stealing his peppermint patties. Nowadays? Well…I think about Cuphead.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War (PC/XB1/PS4)

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor came out almost three years ago. It was an interesting take on the Lord of the Rings universe created by J.R.R Tolkien. The combat was unique, the story engaging and filled with rich lore and featured a unique Nemesis System. The game tried to do new things in the world of third-person story adventures, even if the system fell short of what was originally promised. Middle-earth: Shadow of War tries to improve every aspect of the original concepts, while at the same time expanding upon it. It’s fantasy at its finest and I believe Tolkien would be proud.
